Old-School Strategy-RPG Quadruples Its Kickstarter Goal

I’ve always been hesitant to get too excited about Kickstarter projects that promise to be “love letters” to the old-school RPGs that many of us love and cherish. It seems like every dafabet week there’s a new group of indie developers promising to make the next Lunar or Final Fantasy VI. It can get a little exhausting. But! Liege, a game we’ve been hearing about mc888 for a while now, seems to have done quite well for itself: over the past month the game’s creators have earned close to $60,000—four times their goal of $15,000. It’ll be split into a trilogy, creator John Rhee says—and they’re aiming for a December 2014 release. It certainly looks neat, like many Kickstarters do—hopefully Rhee and his riches888pg crew live up to backers’ expectations. Check out the Kickstarter page for more details on the art, music, etc.
